A New Day Has Dawned

This morning as I was getting ready for work I saw the first positive news story from the war-torn Middle East. Imagine my excitement as I watched a CNN reporter interviewing an Afghani soldier who had been trained by US forces. The Afghan was telling about all the wonderful changes happening in his country and the work he was doing to keep the peace. The reporter wrapped up her story by acknowledging the progress but cautioning that, “there is much more work to be done.”

I turned over to MSNBC and to my astonishment I heard two analyst/contributors agreeing in a very polite and rational discussion that it was time to send more troops to Iraq to finally finish the job there so we could eventually withdraw with a stable government in place. To leave prematurely would leave the region in chaos, they said.

I for one am looking forward to hearing more stories of the great progress we are making in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Very insightful! I completely agree with your perception of how the world has changed with just one election. And, so much the better for the likes of the leftist media outlets.

Fox will now be our renewed voice of reason, fair and balanced and, once again, on the outside looking in.

But didn't you know? There is no good news in Iraq and Afghanistan. At least that's what Keith Olberman says!

Wow! Imagine newscasters telling the truth! MUST be a first. I, too, am glad to hear these things are being reported.

Thank you both for you comments.
Welcome Tom to Peter’s Ashtray and to the Quadblog. I’m glad you stopped by. No doubt you have seen the Smoking Christian and with the addition of myself, the Yakimaniac, the Occasional Glass of Wine Non-denominationalist (Og for short) and The Shilohman we make up the Four Blogsmen of the Apocalypse. We may be few in number but we make up for it in fewer readers and even less relevance. Hey it’s our reality and we like it. Og is an investment banker from a large midwestern city, which shall remain nameless because he is still running from the law. Shilohdude is a pastor in Michigan who owns a Zebra Finch stud farm and likes to show us his tats. I am a humble prothonotary (groupie) of the Smoking Christian from a cow town in Washington State and the SC, well he is a troubled genius who lives in his garage in Orange County, CA smoking anything combustible and scaring his retiree neighbors with his blaring rock music. SC’s younger brother (YB of SC) is a regular contributor and has all the sanity that was not bestowed on his brother. Don’t ask me why. It’s a mystery to all of us. We just warm ourselves near the SC’s brilliant flame waiting for his ship to come in so we can get an invite to his condo in Vail or Cancun. You will find a range of subjects here and some are even readable. Again, welcome and make yourself at home.

BTW, among the four links on the side that direct you to each of our blogs you will find one called Dead Brain Dairy or Dead Brian’s Dairy or Dead Brain Diary or whatever. DO NOT GO IN THERE! It’s the place where Peter’s dark side runs amuck. It is quite literally the SC’s inner zombie screaming in the middle of the night. It makes Steven King look like Willy Wonka. So beware and have a nice day!
